FAQ

What is bamboo?

Bamboo is not a tree but a type of grass, and it is one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth, growing up to three times faster than trees. It produces approximately 35 percent more oxygen while absorbing higher levels of carbon dioxide, making it highly beneficial for the environment. Bamboo products are fully biodegradable, which helps reduce waste and environmental impact. Because of its rapid renewability and sustainability, bamboo is an effective alternative to trees and other non-renewable resources.

Where is your bamboo collected?

The bamboo used to make our household tissue paper is grown on managed bamboo plantations by experienced farmers. We specifically source a bamboo species called Neosinocalamus affinis, which is well suited for tissue production due to its strength, softness, and renewability. This responsible sourcing helps ensure consistent quality while supporting sustainable farming practices.

Why do we use bamboo tissue?

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants in the world, making it a highly renewable, high-yield resource and an ideal raw material for paper production. Bamboo tissue is naturally soft, strong, and gentle on the skin, without the need for added fibres. It dissolves quickly in water, helping reduce the risk of septic and plumbing issues. Most importantly, choosing bamboo tissue supports a more sustainable alternative to traditional paper products and helps reduce overall environmental impact.

Will the bamboo you use for making paper affect the panda habitat?

No, the bamboo used to make our paper does not affect panda habitats. Our bamboo is sourced from local, managed plantations rather than from wild bamboo forests. In addition, the species we use, Neosinocalamus affinis, is different from the bamboo species consumed by giant pandas, ensuring that our sourcing does not interfere with their natural food supply.
